Therapy That Feels Like a Friendly Chat

Hi, I’m Emily.

I was born and raised in Bakersfield and completed my undergraduate studies at Bakersfield College and CSU Bakersfield before earning my Master’s in Clinical Counseling from Alliant International University in San Diego.

I know starting therapy can feel vulnerable, especially if you’re used to carrying a lot on your own or trying to make sense of things by yourself. You don’t have to have it all figured out before coming in. Part of our work is slowing things down and making sense of it together.

My style is warm, collaborative, and grounded. I’m someone who will sit with you in the hard moments, while also gently helping you notice patterns, build insight, and develop tools that actually feel usable in your everyday life. Therapy with me isn’t about “fixing” you, it’s about helping you understand yourself more clearly and move toward the kind of life and relationships you want.

I work with adults, older adults, and caregivers navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, and identity exploration, and I have specialized experience in dementia care.

With over 4,000 hours of supervised clinical experience, I’m now fully licensed (number pending). My work has been shaped not just by training, but by meaningful, real relationships with the people I’ve worked with.

Outside of therapy, I really value connection, slowing down, and finding small ways to feel more grounded in a busy world. I love animals, being in nature, and the kinds of conversations that help people feel seen and understood, things that naturally carry into the way I show up in my work.
